Simply put, the addition of Mulsperse® optimizes the properties of water-based drilling fluids when asphaltic type materials are in the system!
Mulsperse® is a liquid wetting agent or coupler designed to enhance the process of water-wetting additives in the drilling fluid system. In order for most additives to be effective, they must be maintained in a dispersed state. Mulsperse® is a primary agent in managing the wetability of solids in the mud system by preventing solid hydrocarbons, such as gilsonite and asphaltic-type materials from clumping, agglomerating, and minimizing the cost related to the loss of additives across the shaker screens.
